bodies entwined in smoke and dancing
writhing desperately –
clinging.
dusted visages, titian sanguine lips
painting smudges
on collars and
burnished cheeks
careless whispers of love and desire
hearts twisted, tangled
and reason has stolen
fancy’s painted wings
the phantom shapes that haunt
sweet reveries of
lives,
seemingly on filmstrips
