Meaning:
"Would not be outdone by, and therefore copied"

Your words have inspired me to write things that make others feel they are sorely lacking.
I can think of many things that my pieces were inspired by. Then again, I revel in imitation. Imitation breeds eventual creativity.
:D definitely. It's just annoying that people use that phrase so often. If it's an imitation you should say so.
